Meet Heather Wright, M.Ed.

Non-Attorney Advocate
Special Education Teacher

My journey as a special education advocate began where it matters most...in the classroom. With over 17 years of experience as both a general and special education teacher, I've supported students from elementary through middle school across North Georgia and the greater Atlanta metro area. I also hold a Master's degree in Learning Disabilities and Behavior Disorders, giving me a deep, research-informed understanding of how children learn differently.

As a teacher, I watched countless students struggle to access the support they desperately needed. Too often, their behaviors were seen as defiance rather than communication. Their learning differences were misunderstood, minimized, or overlooked entirely. I sat in meeting after meeting knowing what a child needed, but feeling constrained by a system that wasn't designed to make things easy for families.

That frustration became my purpose.

Parents are their child's most powerful advocates, but no parent should have to navigate the IEP process, 504 Plan evaluations, or special education law alone. I left the classroom to stand alongside families, bringing my insider knowledge of how schools actually operate to help level the playing field.

Today, I work with families in Georgia and across the country as a trusted special education advocate. Whether you're just beginning the IEP or 504 process, preparing for a difficult ARD or eligibility meeting, trying to understand evaluation results, or fighting for services your child has been denied...I'm here to guide you every step of the way.

When we work together, I help you:

  • Understand what IEP goals, evaluation reports, and school recommendations actually mean for your child

  • Prepare for meetings with confidence, clarity, and a clear strategy

  • Strengthen IEP services and accommodations so they move your child forward, not just check a box

  • Advocate effectively without having to become an expert in special education law overnight

Your child deserves more than a plan that gets them through the day. They deserve one that honors who they are and helps them truly thrive. I would be honored to walk alongside your family through this process.
